Role Overview
DevOps engineer will work as part of the Infra team responsible for Provisioning resources for various applications on AWS infrastructure, Incidence management and investigations to identify their root cause. Implementing, reviewing and testing infrastructure code. This role is ideal for someone who has a solid grasp of QA practices and is ready to grow within a dynamic, product-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize AWS infrastructure, especially services like ECS, EC2, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, and VPC.
- Build CI/CD pipelines.
- Set up and maintain Docker-based deployments on ECS (Fargate or EC2 launch type).
- Automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Configure and monitor event streaming platforms like Apache Kafka (self-managed or MSK).
- Develop and maintain internal tools and scripts using Python or Bash.
- Implement system monitoring, alerting, and performance tuning.
- Work closely with development teams to align infrastructure with application requirements.
- Ensure security best practices are followed across environments.
- Participate in on-call rotations and incident response.
Required Skills
- AWS: Deep understanding of ECS, EC2, IAM, CloudWatch, S3, and networking components like VPC, subnets, security groups, and ALB.
- Containers: Proficient with Docker and container orchestration using ECS.
- CI/CD: Experience with Git-based workflows and pipeline creation.
- Kafka: Understanding of Kafka architecture, producers/consumers, and topic configuration.
- Scripting: Strong scripting skills in Python; Bash is a plus.
- Infrastructure as Code: Experience with Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
- Monitoring & Logging: Familiarity with CloudWatch, ELK stack, Prometheus/Grafana, or equivalent.
- Version Control: Hands-on experience with Git (GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket).
- Familiarity with security practices (IAM policies, secrets management, etc.).
- Knowledge of distributed systems and high-availability architectures.
Experience & Education
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS, or a similar relevant field.
- 2-3 years of experience in a DevOps Role
